During the period of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (2021-2025), the capital city and regional areas underwent changes beyond recognition and numerous edifices were built to lead the people to the civilization of the new era.

This is largely attributable to the sincere efforts of the workers of the Sangwon Cement Complex.

The complex, a leading cement producer of the country, exceeded its peak production level year by year in the last five years, continuously defying the impossibility and limits.

Last year, when they were assigned the task of increasing cement production as much as 10 times more than their increased output in 2024, the workers of the complex attained the tough goal of increased cement production for 2025 with their bold and proactive efforts.

As a result, they made a positive contribution to completing enormous construction projects welcomed by the people and directly related to their life, and their miraculous successes in increased production greatly encouraged the people across the country.

That is why on March 1 this year the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the Sangwon Cement Complex and said that the unbounded devotion and sincere efforts of the Sangwon workers were surely included in the great records in each chapter of the chronicles of the past five years when socialist construction in the country was marked with unprecedented upsurges and transformations and that the whole country should have a deep understanding of it.

The Sangwon workers who received his words of encouragement are now effecting a huger surge in production with enthusiasm for increased production.

They fulfilled their monthly national economic plans ahead of schedule from January to May this year and, in June, they are overfulfilling their daily cement production plan every day.

"The spirit of unconditionally carrying out any uphill task to meet the demands of our motherland and revolution and creating new things from nothing on the new advance for bringing glory to our beloved country and realizing the cherished desires of the people—this is the Sangwon workers’ courage," said Yun Jae Hyok, manager of the Sangwon Cement Complex.

The spirit of advance of the Sangwon workers, who are performing fresh miracles and feats day after day, is now greatly stirring all the people across the country and leading them to work new miracles.
