Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov referred to the issue of the European security system on June 10 at a meeting of the foreign ministers council of the collective security treaty organization.

The European security system has finally been dismantled by the Western group, he said, noting that all of the most important treaties in the field of arms control were abrogated.

Against such a background, it is important not to allow the Eurasian region to become a theatre of geopolitical confrontations, he stressed, adding that NATO advocates ensuring a Eurasian security “according to its rules, opinions and modes”.
