Amid blessings of whole country
June 5, 2026June 6 this year marks the 80th founding anniversary of the Korean Children’s Union.
The KCU members growing up to be reliable pillars of socialist Korea have significantly celebrated its founding anniversary every year.
They would hold the joint national meeting of KCU organizations, sports and amusement games, a stage of pride and art performances on the occasion of the June 6 holiday.
The Workers’ Party of Korea and the DPRK government used to arrange a national meeting in congratulation of the KCU members on its founding anniversary and send a congratulatory message in the name of the Party Central Committee. The national-level art troupes also gave performances representing the valiant and cheerful looks of the KCU members growing under the care of the Party.
Grand meetings of the KCU members were also held on their holiday.
The KCU Congress is attended by its members who are recommended by the KCU organizations for being especially exemplary in study, organizational life, socio-political activities and do-good-thing movements.

Everyone in the DPRK can join the KCU in their childhood, but not everyone can have the honour of taking part in the grand meeting of the KCU members which is held once in some years. Only indisputably exemplary ones among the KCU members across the country are elected to participate in such congress which decides important issues for the development of the children’s organization. Therefore, it is a source of pride to be cherished all their life to take part in the meeting.
That is why numerous stories related to the KCU congresses and about the love bestowed to the young delegates have been told like legends among the people across the country for the past 10-odd years alone.

As they grew up under such warm care, KCU members displayed admirable traits. They unhesitatingly jumped into raging rivers to rescue their drowning juniors, helped their classmates with learning difficulties in study and, during the top-level emergency anti-epidemic period, made lots of packets for medicines and sent them to the pharmacies busy with the anti-epidemic work.
The whole country extends congratulations to all the KCU members as the belief that they will grow up to be future pillars of the country as heroes and PhDs adds freshness and vibrancy to the advancing ranks of today.
