WPK’s general line for building socialism

May 27, 2026

The three revolutions–ideological, technological and cultural–are the general line of the Workers’ Party of Korea for socialist construction.

The whole course of Korean-style socialist construction is run through with the three revolutions and it has advanced through the struggle to implement the line of the three revolutions.

The present vibrant era of opening up a period of comprehensive development of socialism requires more vigorously conducting the three revolutions.

The three revolutions are, in essence, a struggle for eliminating all the outdated things in the ideological, technological and cultural fields and create new things.

The people’s ideological consciousness, technical level and civilization level are not raised simply because the times advance, science and technology develop and the working conditions and living environment change. The backward legacies, like conservatism and empiricism which do not keep pace with the advancing spirit of the new era, coexist not only in the state and social life but also in the economic and cultural sectors. Without overcoming them, it is impossible to vigorously advance the struggle to realize the people’s dreams and ideals.

Therefore, the three revolutions for freeing people from the shackles of outdated ideas and raising their levels of technology and civilization are a powerful weapon for socialist construction.

The great cause of the comprehensive development of socialism can be accomplished more quickly and substantially when the Party’s leadership is strengthened and the state’s leading role enhanced in carrying out the three revolutions and the masses of the people take part in the revolutions with the attitude of masters.

Socialist construction in the DPRK will continue to advance, when new tasks are continuously set forth in line with the development of the times in all aspects of ideology, technology and culture and the work of transforming nature, man and society is promoted in an innovative way.
