The participants in the Ninth Congress of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea arrived in Pyongyang on May 8.

The congress will be a significant occasion for demonstrating the faith and will of the heroic Korean working class to make greater innovations and perform greater feats at the forefront of the all-people general advance for implementing the new five-year plan for national economic development and setting up a new milestone in strengthening and developing the GFTUK. 

Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and other senior officials of the Party Central Committee and officials of the Central Committee of the GFTUK greeted the participants who played the vanguard and core role in their workplaces.

Waving their hands towards the procession of buses carrying the participants, the citizens of Pyongyang extended congratulations to them along the streets.
