Eighth Congress of SWUK to be convened
May 10, 2026The Eighth Congress of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea will be held in Pyongyang in mid-July 2026.
The 15th Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the SWUK decided to convene the Eighth Congress of the SWUK in order to conduct its work more vigorously, upholding the idea and spirit of the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea as a banner of struggle and advance.
The congress will serve as a turning point in preparing all the women’s union officials and members to be genuine revolutionaries, ardent patriots and communist mothers by reliably carrying forward the tradition of loyalty and patriotism of the Korean women’s movement and in bringing about a fresh improvement in the work of the union.
