New national ICH element registered
May 9, 2026The custom of utilizing Paektusan bog bilberry was registered as national ICH element No. 151 in the DPRK.
From olden times, the Korean people have widely used Paektusan bog bilberry, one of the famous specialities in the DPRK, for diet and health recovery.
The bog bilberry is popular among the people for their high nutritive value and medicinal efficacy. Such various processed products as wine, syrup and jelly and medicines made from them have been favoured by the Korean people.
The custom of utilizing Paektusan bog bilberry is being further developed in keeping with the sentiments and aesthetic taste of the people and their demands in life.
