A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry on April 21 answered a question put by a journalist as regards the fact that the Japanese government adopted a Cabinet decision to officially revise the “three principles of defense equipment transfer” so as to allow lethal weapons to be exported without prior examination and ratification at the Diet .

China expresses serious concern over this, the spokesman said, adding that Japanese militarism had committed heinous crimes against the peoples of China and neighbouring countries in Asia while expanding invasion at random.

He noted that international legal documents for preventing the revival of militarism, just based on Japan’s history of aggression, clearly stipulated that Japan shall be completely disarmed and maintain no industry capable of rearming it.

Japan’s acceleration of its remilitarization is a fact and reality, he said, adding that the international community including his country would maintain their heightened vigilance against it and resolutely check the reckless neo-militarist act of Japan.
