A magnificent memorial museum of combat feats was erected in the best place of the capital city to praise the great heroic spirit of the brave Korean People's Army soldiers who participated in the overseas military operations to create the legend of miraculous victory unprecedented in history with ardent patriotism and loyalty by defending the sacred prestige and dignity of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The immortal edifice, which will convey forever the ideological and spiritual superiority, mass heroism and unrivalled bravery which are peculiar to the KPA and which were displayed in the special military operations to liberate Kursk Region of the fraternal Russian Federation with the sacred mission and duty, is a symbol of the most righteous people and the strongest army of the DPRK and a great monument injecting eternal vitality to the development of the DPRK-Russia relations which were forged and are consolidated at the cost of blood.

Comrade Kim Jong Un has put on the apex of glory the fine sons of the country who performed immortal feats for the times and history and the younger generations with their noble self-sacrifices and heroic military services. He energetically led the whole construction process of the memorial museum from the design to the construction work, the arrangement of contents of combat feats and the creation of symbolic memorials so that the names and images of the war martyrs could shine forever as a group of eternal stars.

The monumental edifice, which shows through the highest architecture and lofty artistic portrayal the traces of life the officers and soldiers of KPA overseas operations units left in battlefields, their brilliant military achievements and their passionate pulsation and noble soul, is associated with the boundless sincerity, reverence and noble moral obligation of our Party and government and our people and KPA service personnel for the brave war soldiers, and it represents the heroism of our times and the invincibility of our cause.

An inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations was solemnly held on April 26 on the occasion of the first anniversary of the conclusion of the operations to liberate Kursk of the Russian Federation.

Pervading the ceremony venue were deep respect for and remembrance of the heroic war soldiers who had been unfailingly faithful to the orders of the country and dedicated their lives without hesitation for the dignity and honour of our great state.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, attended the ceremony.

Present there were Jo Yong Won, Jo Chun Ryong, No Kwang Chol and other senior Party, government and military officials, commanders of the KPA large combined units, officers and men of the overseas operations units and engineering unit, the bereaved families of the fallen fighters, leading officials of ministries and national agencies, the soldier-builders and creators who contributed to the construction of the museum, students of revolutionary schools, youth and students and citizens of Pyongyang.

Attending the ceremony were also Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma, Andrei Beloussov, minister of Defence, and other members of the official delegation of the Russian Federation and staff members of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang.

When Comrade Kim Jong Un arrived at the venue, all the participants broke into cheers of deep emotion, looking up to him, a peerlessly illustrious commander and great father who has trained the KPA into a politically and ideologically strong army without parallel in the world and into an invincible revolutionary army winning every battle and gives immortality to the heroic soldiers with his noblest love and obligation.

He met brigade and battalion commanders of the overseas military operations units who participated in the inauguration ceremony of the museum.

He gave warm militant encouragement to all the commanding officers of the overseas operations units who fully demonstrated the outstanding fighting spirit and bravery peculiar to the KPA through skilful command of battles and made contributions to glorifying the mightiness and inviolable authority of our state.

Looking up to him embracing each of the reliable commanding officers who braved the raging flames of fierce battles in the van and giving them warm paternal affection, the participants greeted him with enthusiastic applause.

The national anthems of the Russian Federation and the DPRK were played.

Comrade Kim Jong Un made a significant speech in commemoration of the inauguration.

Expressing the deep emotion he felt at the inauguration ceremony of the museum which was erected according to the wish of all the KPA service personnel and the ardent desire and sincerity of the people across the country, he extended heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Party and the government to the officers and soldiers of the construction units at all levels, officials and creative workers of the relevant units who devoted unsparing efforts and wisdom for the construction of the museum.

He referred to the strategic significance of the operations for liberating Kursk, in which the armies of the DPRK and Russia faithful to the ideal of justice fought shoulder to shoulder in the same trench for peace and sovereignty, and to the matchless bravery, mass heroism, indomitable fighting spirit and noble self-sacrificing spirit displayed by the Korean people's fine sons in the bloody battles to set examples of militant friendship.

He said that the overseas military operations of the KPA were unheard-of activities conducted by the service personnel who upheld the order of the Party and the country with their voluntary conscience and moral rights, the most sincere and beautiful men who burned their hearts with pure, strong loyalty and overcame the extreme limits with its infinite viability, adding that today's inauguration ceremony will be recorded in a page of history as the one that has injected absolute immutability into the state’s inviolable dignity and prestige.

He affirmed that the museum will shine in the world and the martyrs will live forever in those brilliant rays along with the history of defence written with the sacred sense of mission and fortitude. Sincerely hoping that the precious lives of the great soldiers will shine forever, he declared the museum open.

All the participants kept in mind with great emotion that the noble spirit and mettle of the martyrs would be immortal commanding the respect of all generations to come, thanks to the benevolent care of the great leader ensuring that the images and names of the martyrs, who dedicated their lives to the sacred war of justice, are etched in golden letters on the immortal monument.

Then, Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, read out a letter sent by Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, to the participants in the inauguration ceremony.

In the letter, President Putin extended congratulations on the inauguration in Pyongyang on the occasion of the first anniversary of the liberation of Kursk and expressed his sincere gratitude and high respect to those who participated in the operations to liberate Kursk and the fallen heroes, saying that the unparalleled feats of the KPA service personnel who achieved immortal glory by displaying outstanding bravery and genuine self-sacrificing spirit while fighting shoulder to shoulder with their Russian comrades-in-arms, will be kept forever in the minds of all the Russian citizens.

No Kwang Chol, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, and Andrei Beloussov, minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, cut the inauguration tape.

A large number of white balloons flew up, reflecting the noble reverence for the heroic self-sacrifice and great feats of the fine sons of the Korean people.

A ceremony of burying the remains of the fallen fighters in the overseas military operations was solemnly held.

Our precious officers and soldiers, whom we did not want to send and moreover lose, finally came into the warm embrace of the motherland they had so longed for and wanted to return even at their last moments, No Kwang Chol said, adding that their noble desires and trust as well as their undying feats will be preserved forever by the unanimous will and steady struggle of all the service personnel and people. 

Comrade Kim Jong Un covered with earth the remains of martyr Kim Son Chol, repressing his pain of loss and regret of not being able to bring back to life the genuine patriots and brave and passionate revolutionary soldiers who sacrificed themselves unhesitatingly upon the call of the country.

The guard of honour of the KPA covered the remains of the martyrs with earth, praying for the repose of the departed spirit of the great sons of the Korean people and for the immortality of the most genuine soldiers and men.

Comrade Kim Jong Un recollected with reverence the heroic deaths of the brave soldiers who devoted their precious lives to the dignity and honour of the great motherland in the military operations.

Amid the playing of music "Song about the Motherland", the historic moments passed to convey the world of noble love and obligation of the great father who, as the heaven of destiny embracing the stars of loyalty, gives the everlasting pulse of life to the martyrs who failed to return and even takes care of the destiny and future of their bereaved families.

The bereaved families shed tears of deep emotion, looking up to Comrade Kim Jong Un who deeply grieved over the young heroes, who dedicated their lives while expecting neither compensation nor reward but wishing for only the prosperity of the country, though he ensured that the house of immortality pulsating with their soul and breath, which cannot be faded with the passage of time, was erected beside the homes where the bereaved families had just started to lead a happy life amid the respect and blessing of the whole country.

Comrade Kim Jong Un paid once again high respect to the bereaved families who are strongly overcoming the sorrow over the loss of their dearest ones, regarding the noble life and honourable deaths of their beloved sons and husbands as admirable and glorious ones.

A volley of rifles was fired for the dead, in reflection of the noble respect for the brave soldiers who showed through their admirable patriotic deeds how the KPA soldiers should live for the Party and the country and what they should leave for the country and put invincibility of heroic Korea onto a higher level.

A wreath in the name of Comrade Kim Jong Un was laid at the Monument to the Korean People's Army Martyrs in the Special Military Operations.

Wreaths were laid in the name of the speaker of the State Duma and the minister of Defence of the Russian Federation.

Also placed were wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK and the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, the DPRK Cabinet, the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK and the three services of the KPA.

All the participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the martyrs, the admirable sons of the Korean people who created a new history of great victory and legend of indomitable heroic feats, to be immortal along with the country, the revolution and all generations to come, in the sacred war for defending justice, dignity and peace.

Comrade Kim Jong Un went round the museum together with major members of the official delegation of the Russian Federation, and senior Party, government and military officials.

He laid a flower before the memorial wall where the martyrs, who demonstrated the great appellation of the strong and the glory of victors with their loyalty to the Party and the country, ardent patriotism and mass heroism peculiar to the KPA, are shining as immortal stars, and paid high tribute to them.

Also laid there were flowers presented by members of the official delegation of the Russian Federation, senior Party, government and military officials, the bereaved families of the fallen fighters and other participants in the ceremony.

Comrade Kim Jong Un looked round with deep emotion the photos and exhibits showing the boundless loyalty to the order of the country, the spirit of ardent patriotism and the indomitable mettle with which they braved even death, regarding it as glory, to defend the honour of the strong, which all the generations of the DPRK should keep forever and carry forward.

He visited a room where the remains are enshrined and laid a flower before them.

He affirmed that although the dignified figures of the martyrs reliably standing in the front ranks of the KPA cannot be seen again, the soul and spirit of them, the defenders of the high and noble honour of the country, will serve as the symbol of the heroism of the Korean people and the banner of the mightiness of the KPA and powerfully encourage the victorious advance of the peoples of the DPRK and Russia struggling for the common cause of independence and justice.

He went to the room of visitor's book and wrote: 

"The soul of the martyrs will be eternal along with the great honour they defended although their lives are buried with the earth with which they fought in their chests.

"The Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations is dedicated to the admirable sons—officers and soldiers of this country—as the platform of honour.

Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Minister of Defence Andrei Beloussov of the Russian Federation made entries in the visitor's book.

Comrade Kim Jong Un looked round the exhibition hall of captured weapons at the memorial museum.

He expressed belief that the museum wishing for the immortality of the martyrs, who defended the dignity and safety of the fraternal people at the cost of their precious blood, proved the solidity of the militant friendship between the DPRK and Russia and the fraternal relations of alliance between their peoples and exalted the dignity, honour, pride and glory of the present generation to be admired by all generations to come, would shine forever as the house of national treasure of Juche Korea and the monument to the great alliance embodying the strong will and great strength of the peoples of the two countries aspiring after justice and peace.

Looking round the sanctuary of education in patriotism associated with the feats of the heroes who made a dash in response to the order of the country and resounding with the echo of their beautiful life left by them at their last moments, all the participants hardened their firm will to build a prosperous country, the most powerful country in the world, which the martyrs desired so ardently, always remembering their noble soul and ambition.

The burning soul of the martyrs will be immortal with the prestige and eternal prosperity of the DPRK, to be strong for all ages, along with the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations symbolizing the greatness of the Korean people and bearing witness to the era of Kim Jong Un, the most heroic era of the DPRK.
