Russian government delegation visits Memorial Tower of Soviet Army
April 24, 2026The delegation of the government of the Russian Federation headed by Alexandr Kozlov, minister of Natural Resources and Ecology who is chairman of the Russian side to the DPRK-Russia Inter-governmental Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology, and Mikhail Murashuko, minister of Health, visited the Memorial Tower of the Soviet Army in Wonsan City on April 22. The delegation participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Hospital.
The delegation was accompanied by Ju Mun Jin, chairman of the Kangwon Provincial People's Committee of the DPRK, Kim Jong Gyu, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and Oleg Kosheev, consul general of the Russian Federation in Chongjin.
They laid bouquets and flowers before the tower in memory of the fallen soldiers of the Soviet Army who dedicated their blood and precious lives to the sacred war for Korea's liberation with the noble internationalist spirit, and paid silent tribute to the martyrs before going round the tower.
On the same day, the members of the delegation visited different places of the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area.
