The Flower Festival-2026 opened with due ceremony at the Okryu Exhibition House in Pyongyang on April 13 on the occasion of the auspicious April holiday.

The festival on the theme of “More Beautiful, More Fragrant”, brought together flower research and production units in Pyongyang and local areas, universities with landscaping-related courses, some institutions, enterprises, organizations, flower fanciers and honorary members of the Korean Flower Association.

The venue of the festival is decorated with different kinds of flowers, various plant decoration sculptures and ornamental plants presented by more than 200 units and fanciers across the country.

Present at the opening ceremony were Ji Myong Jun, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee, officials concerned, the participants in the festival and working people in Pyongyang.

Kim Son Il, minister of Urban Management, made an opening address.

At the end of the ceremony the participants went round the festival venue.
