The 79th enlarged meeting of the National Sports Guidance Committee took place on April 10.

The meeting was presided over by Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, who is chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee.

Present there were Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, and Ri Ju Myong, deputy department director of the WPK Central Committee, who are vice-chairmen of the National Sports Guidance Committee, members of the committee and leading officials of organizations supporting sports events.

The meeting reviewed the work done by the members of the committee and leading officials of the supporters’ organizations in the first quarter of this year and discussed the orientation of the future work.

Ri Il Hwan stressed the need for the members of the committee and leading officials of the organizations to make a deeper study of and thoroughly carry out the contents of the work for implementing the Party's policy on sports and learn about problems and take measures in time.

Then followed a video show of the successes achieved in the sector of sports last year.
