China urges US and Israel to stop military actions against Iran
April 9, 2026The Chinese permanent representative to the United Nations referred to the Middle East issue at an open session of the UN Security Council on April 2.
He said that ceaseless aggravation of the Middle East war has not only shocked regional peace and stability but also had a direct impact on energy, trade, marine transport and others and encroached on common interests of all countries.
The root cause of the current war is the armed attack by the US and Israel on Iran and it is clearly contrary to the basic objectives and principles of the UN Charter and the main standards of international relations, he noted.
Saying that China denounces all acts of indiscriminately attacking innocent civilians and non-military targets, he demanded that the US and Israel stop military actions.
