National photo exhibition opens in celebration of President Kim Il Sung's birthday

The national photo exhibition "Immortal exploits recorded in the history of people-centred architecture" opened in celebration of the 114th anniversary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

On display in the venue of the exhibition are photos dealing with the revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who formulated and systematized the Juche-oriented architectural ideas and theories and laid a solid foundation for steadily developing Korean-style architectural creation work, and of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is ushering in a great golden age of construction by applying the people-first architectural ideal.

An opening ceremony of the exhibition was held at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang on April 6.

Present at the ceremony were Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Hyon Un Chol, minister of Culture, officials concerned and officials and working people in Pyongyang.

Choe Chang Hak, first deputy department director of the WPK Central Committee, delivered an opening address.

He said that the Juche-oriented architecture of the DPRK, which was born and made leaps forward under the care of the President and the Chairman, has greeted the great heyday of its development under the wise leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un. The country is turning into a socialist paradise where the people enjoy a new life and new wellbeing to their heart's content, he added.

He stressed the need for all the officials, Party members and other working people to fully demonstrate the spirit and mettle of the Koreans in the struggle to implement the decisions of the Ninth Party Congress, bearing in mind the unshakable faith that a bright future is always in store for the socialist country as it is led by the General Secretary.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round the exhibition hall.
