Belarus president: Army should be prepared to cope with war
April 7, 2026Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed a meeting for reviewing the general inspection of the armed forces of his country on April 1.
Referring to the results of the general inspection of the armed forces, he said that the recent inspection was unprecedented in scale and intensity and it was carried out by strictly applying day and night, all-weather and other conditions complicating combat missions and by bringing the circumstances as close as possible to real challenges, to be more precise, a war.
He said that there can be no peacetime and Belarus must be prepared to cope with war, adding the army was founded and is maintained for that.
Belarus is resolutely opposed to war and does not want it, but the army should be prepared to cope with it, he noted.
