Russia urges Ukraine to withdraw troops from Donbas
April 7, 2026Dmitri Peskov, the Russian President’s press secretary, urged the Ukrainian authorities to withdraw their troops from the Donbas region at a press conference on April 3.
Saying that the special military operations will go on until all the set goals are attained, he stated that in order for the heated stage of the operations to stop, Ukraine must withdraw its troops from the region.
Russia has not set any deadline as to the withdrawal of the Ukrainian forces, he said, stressing that Zelenskiy should make a relevant decision with a sense of political responsibility and should pull out the troops at once even today.
