China censures US and Japan for their behaviour related to Taiwan issue
April 5, 2026A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry denounced the US’ and Japan’s behaviour related to the Taiwan issue at a press conference on March 30.
In connection with US senators’ visit to Taiwan, the spokesman said that his country consistently and resolutely opposes government-level exchange of visits between the US and Taiwan and had previously protested strongly to the US.
The US should fully comply with the One China principle and the rules of the China-US Three Joint Communiques and should not send any wrong signal to the separatist forces seeking “independence of Taiwan”, he said, adding that China’s stand on matters related to Taiwan is clear and it would take necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, he disclosed that a member of the Japanese House of Representatives had seriously infringed on China’s sovereignty and core interests by continuing to collude with the separatist forces seeking “independence of Taiwan” to cause trouble, and stated that the Chinese government applied sanctions against him according to the relevant law.
