The Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference took place in Beijing from March 4 to 11. 

It was attended by Xi Jinping, president of the People’s Republic of China, leading officials of the Communist Party of China and the state and delegates.

Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, made a report on its work.

The report said that last year the CPPCC’s National Committee and Standing Committee maintained the organic combination of the CPC’s leadership, united front and consultative democracy and fulfilled their role as a special consultative organization, guided by the socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

2026 is the year when the implementation of the 15th five-year plan starts, it said, stressing the need for the CPPCC to perfect the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system led by the CPC and fulfil its duty by focusing on the main tasks of the party and the state.

The meeting adopted a decision of the Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC on the report on the work of the Standing Committee, a political decision of the Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC and other documents.

During the session, there were plenary and group meetings.
