Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, received a congratulatory message from Mahmoud Abbas, president of the State of Palestine and chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, on March 4.

The message said:

We extend the warmest congratulations to Your Excellency on the successful conclusion of the Ninth Congress of the powerful Workers' Party of Korea and on your reelection as its general secretary.

We wish Your Excellency good health, happiness and success on this important political occasion.

And we wish the friendly DPRK, its government and people greater progress and prosperity.
