Slovakia warns: Power supply to Ukraine would be stopped
February 28, 2026The Slovak prime minister on February 21 warned that Slovakia would stop the power supply to Ukraine.
Saying that Ukrainian President Zelenskiy is acting maliciously against Slovakia which is against war, he added that the suspension of oil delivery through the “Druzba” oil pipeline has resulted in economic losses, bringing about social disorder.
Unless the crude oil delivery is resumed, he will demand that the Slovak state-run power transmission company stop the power supply to Ukraine, he said.
The Russian oil delivery to Slovakia and Hungary has reportedly been stopped since late January due to the destruction of the pipeline by Ukraine.
