Chinese FM demands Japan's soul-searching
February 18, 2026A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry denounced Japan for not honestly and sincerely approaching its history of aggression, at a regular press conference on February 11.
Recently the Japanese authorities deprived the victims of sexual slavery of the right to demand fact and compensation and the international community is raising voices against their conduct. As regards this, the spokesman urged Japan to seriously reflect on its history of aggression and closely look back upon the calamities it had brought to the "comfort women”.
Some forces of Japan have consistently denied the history of forcible drafting of “comfort women” for a long time and even made the foolish attempt to rewrite it, he said, describing the forcible drafting of “comfort women” as a grave crime committed by the Japanese militarists and a blatant infringement on the rights of the relevant victims.
As the related evidence is clear, the denial of the crime can never be tolerated and the international community is very indignant at it, he said.
