Regional economic development gains momentum

According to the manager of the Kangwon Provincial Power Distribution Station, the province can fully meet the demand for electric power needed for its economic development and the improvement of the local people’s living standards with the power generation capacity developed by building hydroelectric power stations by last year.

The province sufficiently supplies its areas with additionally needed electricity without having to rely on the national grid.

As a result, the areas and units of the province now plan and do new tasks at will.

The Kimhwa County Foodstuff Factory installed additional bread-making facilities to increase bread production capacity and the county’s daily necessities factory replaced the raw material mixer with the one with larger capacity and ensures its full operation to further increase the production of soap.

Kosan County, too, set up more raw materials bases last year to supply enough raw materials to its newly-built regional-industry factories and is putting in effort to install additional facilities for processing grains and oil-bearing crops from the bases.

Ichon County increased the production of fertilizer needed for farming by installing an additional production process of liquid compound fertilizer and last year it built a new artificial stone plate production base to fully supply building materials for rural housing construction.

The people of Kangwon Province, who have built strong power bases for self-sustenance, are growing thirstier for work day after day, and the economic development and improvement of the people’s living standards are being accelerated in the province.
