General Secretary Kim Jong Un’s Revolutionary Activities

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, visited a major munitions industry enterprise on December 28 to learn about the production of weapons and other combat equipment.

He was accompanied by Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, No Kwang Chol, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, Kim Jong Sik, first deputy department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Jang Chang Ha, general director of the Missile Administration of the DPRK, and the relevant officials of the munitions industry department of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about the production of multiple rocket launchers to be deployed in major units of the Korean People’s Army according to the decision of the Central Military Commission of the WPK.

He repeatedly praised the upbeat revolutionary attitude of the workers of the enterprise, who are waging a labour struggle to attain the goal of producing the multiple rocket launcher system set by the Party while increasing production every day in high spirits.

Stressing once again the importance of the weapon system being produced by the enterprise, he encouraged the workers in their production campaign.

The multiple rocket launcher system, which will be a main strike means of the KPA, will completely change the composition of our artillery forces, he said, noting that the enterprise plays a pivotal role in implementing the Party’s military strategic policy on modernizing and reinforcing long-range artillery pieces. And he expressed satisfaction, saying that the weapon system, which will be used in large numbers and in a concentrated way in military operations, is a super-powerful weapon system as it can annihilate the enemy through sudden and precise strike with high accuracy and devastating power and can also be used as a strategic attack means. It is really a laudable success that we are producing with our own efforts and technology the world’s only operational and tactical weapon system with the greatest military effect at will to meet the demand, he added.

He also referred to the prospective modernization project of the enterprise.

He said that we should bring about a revolution in upgrading the artillery weapon system and, to this end, it is necessary to provide the enterprise with remarkable production capacity by further perfecting its production structure and improving the technical foundations of its production lines in particular and thus fully guarantee materially and technically the successful attainment of the munitions production goals to be set forth at the Ninth Congress of the WPK.

He stressed the need for the overall munitions industry field as well as this enterprise to constantly push ahead with the establishment of an advanced industrial structure, steady expansion of production capacity and innovative technological upgrading capable of producing more weapons and other combat equipment in conformity with the development-oriented requirements of the defence science and industry in the present era and the goal of modernizing our army and its demand.

He ardently called for building on the successes achieved this year to attain greater successes through strenuous efforts in the struggle for bolstering up the defence capabilities in 2026.

His field guidance of the day serves as a new milestone in increasing the country’s war deterrent in a practical way.
