Later, after receiving modern educational equipment, musical instruments and sports apparatuses from the state, the palace put great efforts into improving the qualifications of the instructors so that the benefits of the state for children could prove effective.
Over the past decade, several honorary title holders, nearly 20 academic degree or title holders, dozens of October 8 model instructors, many holders of certificates of registration of new teaching methods, introduction of new teaching methods and invention of experimental apparatuses and teaching aids have been produced among the instructors of the palace.
The palace has steadily improved the contents and methods of the operation of the groups and further raised their level in keeping with the modern education development trend and the pedagogical requirements.
A large number of schoolchildren have developed their talents in the renovated palace. Thousands of them became reserve scientists, artistes and sportspersons.
More than 30 group members of the palace fully displayed their talents in the international arena, including those who won four gold medals and two silver medals in the juvenile category event of the 23rd Taekwon-Do World Championships and a special prize at the 33rd international festival of child and juvenile art works.
During the period, the palace gave over 400 performances, including the one given by schoolchildren for celebrating the 70th founding anniversary of the Korean Children’s Union, and also conducted brisk motivation activities for increased production at various units of socialist construction.
During a visit to the Maritime Territory of Russia last May the schoolchildren’s art troupe of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace gave an excellent performance, making the whole region bubble with great excitement.
Director Kim Song Hyon of the palace said with pride that the palace is just a place where children develop beautiful dreams and an excellent future of the country grows.
