Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on SNS on November 1 that the US is the den of drug crimes.

Censuring the US for staging the “anti-drug operation” by massing troops in the Caribbean Sea, she said that the US administration is committing a mistake and it is because the source of drug crimes is not Venezuela but the US itself.

The US health system allows the people to use drugs legally as it permits doctors to prescribe not the medicines for medical treatment, but various kinds of painkillers for the patients according to contracts with pharmaceutical factories, she said.

If the US Defense Department wants to fight the drug crimes, it has to start from the streets of San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York and it would be better for it to begin with politicians and large pharmaceutical factories first and, to this end, 16 000 troops deployed in the Caribbean Sea will not be enough, she noted ironically.

The streets in New York “smell of marihuana” from early morning as well as in the evening, she added.
