The Mexican President at a press conference on October 28 condemned the US for attacking vessels in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific on the pretext of “anti-drug operations”.

In connection with the fact that the US is attacking civilian vessels, accusing them of transporting drugs without any evidence, she said Mexico opposes such attacks, adding that its navy has launched search and rescue operations for survivors.

She noted that her country’s navy is conducting the operations from a humanitarian standpoint and in conformity with international treaties.

Since September 2, the US forces have reportedly sunk 14 vessels in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific, causing about 60 deaths.
