Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, inspected various fields in North and South Phyongan provinces.

Going round farms in Taedong, Mundok, Sukchon, Jungsan and Phyongwon counties and Jongju City, he stressed the need for officials of the agricultural guidance organs and farms to plan and guide the immediate farming processes including harvesting in a responsible manner and thus successfully conclude this year's farming.

He pointed out that the farms should finish threshing qualitatively in time by increasing the proportion of mechanization in farm work and achieve more remarkable successes in next year's agricultural production by widely introducing the farming methods which proved advantageous in practice and indicated the ways for them to encourage livestock farming.

At Anju Paper Mill No. 121, he said that the factory should steadily improve the quality indices of products by holding fast to science and technology and push ahead with the full production of paper of different uses in a far-sighted and planned manner.

Learning about the assembly of equipment newly added to the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and the operation of its production processes, he noted that officials should command the project more dynamically on the basis of scientific planning and design and direct efforts to technical and equipment management to bring about an innovation in fertilizer production.

The field consultative meetings discussed the practical matters for the full supply of raw and other materials and fuel needed for the production of paper by the relevant units and the normalization of the production of fertilizer and functional plastic sheets for greenhouse and took appropriate steps.
