Wreaths laid at Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery
August 17, 2025Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, other cadres of the Party, the government and the military and officials of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, the Cabinet and armed forces organs visited the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri on August 15 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation.
They were accompanied by the bereaved family members of martyrs.
The guard of honour of the Korean People's Army lined up at the cemetery.
Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK were placed at the memorial monument of the cemetery.
The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of the martyrs who pioneered the sacred Korean revolution at the cost of their blood with boundless loyalty to the Party and leader and performed immortal feats in the struggle for the victorious advance of the revolutionary cause of Juche.
Then the participants laid bouquets and flowers at tombstones of martyrs and paid noble tribute to them.
