UN experts warn against environment destruction rampant in Africa
July 18, 2025UN environmental experts on July 14 warned that the crimes of environmental destruction rampant in Africa are hampering the stability and sustainable development of the region.
Over the past two decades, many animals including elephants, rhinoceroses and pangolins have been the targets of poaching and forests have been devastated due to illegal felling in the region.
The waste from the West has been dumped in African countries and unlimited fishing and mineral extract have also seriously destroyed natural environment there.
Saying that checking such crimes of environmental destruction is an urgent task in putting Africa on the stable track, the experts stressed that it is important to intensify the struggle against the crimes.
