IT industry units are channelling big efforts into the management of talents in keeping with the accelerating global trend towards IT development.

The Pyongyang Technology Corporation has produced good results by introducing a scientific talents rating management system.

Originally the system analysed and evaluated talents’ activities at intervals of six months and awarded them relevant degrees.

Its evaluation items and specified indexes are very detailed and the scientific accuracy and precision of analysis improve as the indexes get more detailed, said Jang Kyong Chol, an official of the corporation.

As for the research and development achievement item, for example, there are over ten specified indexes including those related to degrees of technical difficulties, amount of business and current output. These indexes are not fixed, but are steadily updated by accepting the creative opinions of employees.

This year, the corporation has shortened the talents rating period from six months to three.

The corporation attaches importance to the role of its science council.

The council deliberates in detail on the analysis of document made by every researcher and the course of development of technology in order to inform them of the knacks of applying advanced technologies to the local reality and correct development orientations. This plays an important role in making them conduct all development projects in the most correct way and at the highest qualitative level.

As a result, the corporation achieved lots of successes in fulfilling valuable research tasks conducive to the introduction of IT throughout the country and in research into world cutting-edge technologies in the first half of the year.
