The 36th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang on July 3.

The meeting was presided over by Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the SPA Standing Committee.

It was attended by Vice-Chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol and other members of the SPA Standing Committee.

Present there as observers were relevant officials of the SPA Standing Committee, Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies.

Laid before the plenum as agenda items were the deliberation and adoption of the laws of the DPRK on the implementation of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, on biosafety and on medical appraisal of working abilities and the recall and election of judges and people’s assessors of the Supreme Court.

There was a report on the main contents of the relevant draft laws deliberated on at the SPA Legislation Committee.

On the basis of the study and discussion of the bills brought up, the plenary meeting adopted with unanimous approval the decrees of the SPA Standing Committee “On the adoption of the Law of the DPRK on the Implementation of the Regional Development 20x10 Policy”, “On the adoption of the Law of the DPRK on Biosafety” and “On the adoption of the Law of the DPRK on Medical Appraisal of Working Abilities”.

The meeting recalled and elected judges and people’s assessors of the Supreme Court of the DPRK.
