Russian President Vladimir Putin put forward the tasks facing the shipbuilding sector on June 29.

The primary task to be tackled for developing the Russian fleets is to increase the number of atomic icebreakers, he emphasized.

Particularly, it is important to increase the number of multi-functional atomic icebreakers which can sail in the Artic for a full year, he said.

He also said that the upgrading of the existing means, creation of new production capacity, development of new technologies and training of skilled workers are of great significance in ensuring the safety of sea boundary lines of Russia and the comprehensive and balanced development of its fleets.
