A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs answered the question raised by a journalist on a US high-ranking official’s remarks that the US is preparing for attacking Iran within a few days to come at a press conference on June 19.

He noted that China opposes infringing other country’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity in violation of the basic aim and principle of the UN Charter and using or threatening to use armed forces in international relations.

He called on the international community to create conditions for promoting the efforts to achieve ceasefire and end the war with a fair stand and responsible attitude so as to prevent a big disaster from occurring in the relevant region.
