Mining complex increases production of concentrated iron ore

June 20, 2025

The Musan Mining Complex has produced over 5 500 tons of more concentrated iron ore than its highly-set target so far in the first half of this year.

The complex took timely measures for putting production on a normal track by enlisting the cooperation between field technicians and skilled workers.

The complex, in close contact with scientific research institutions, made a detailed analysis of the iron ore deposits and stepped up technical preparations for large-scale blasting, while achieving remarkable progress in introducing advanced construction methods for speeding up pit digging.

Officials, workers and technicians of the branch open mine in charge of the preceding processes boosted productivity by putting all processes including construction, blasting and excavation on a scientific basis according to an optimum design. The stripping belt station introduced technical innovation proposals for removing large quantities of overburden to ensure the normal operation of equipment including large conical crusher.

The officials and technicians of the Industrial Technology Institute have made a big contribution to increasing production by solving the problem of insulating materials needed in repair by relying on domestic raw materials.

The workers of the branch ball factory recycled hundreds of tons of scrap cast iron and built an induction furnace with their own efforts and technology, thereby increasing productivity by 1.2 times more than previously, while reducing the consumption of electricity. And the repair and bit head branch factories are turning out in a qualitative way the excavator bucket teeth, bit heads and materials for various axles.

Heavy lorry drivers of the ore transport station, which has built a solid repair base and secured batteries and spare parts according to a well thought-out plan, have overfulfilled their daily transport plans. Workers of the dry workshop, ore-dressing workshop No. 2 and other units are raising the operation rate of equipment to handle thousands of tons of ore on a daily average.
