KCU joint national meeting held

A joint national meeting of the Korean Children’s Union organizations took place in Pyongyang on June 6 to mark the 79th anniversary of the founding of the KCU.

It was attended by participants in the celebrations of the 79th anniversary of the KCU, students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and members of the delegation of Korean schoolchildren in Japan.

Also present there at invitation were Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, Kim Jong Sun, department director of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Sung Du, minister of Education, and officials of the youth league.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report.

He said that the joint national meeting was held on the significant occasion of the founding anniversary of the KCU which was born as a Juche-oriented revolutionary organization of children and recorded a 79-year history under the care of the great Party.

He said that the joint national meeting will fully demonstrate the bright looks and strong spirit of all the KCU members who are growing up to be reliable pillars of the great Kim Jong Un’s Korea.

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, who always sets policies for the children before others, provided schoolchildren with new uniforms, satchels and school things, saw to it that schools, schoolchildren’s palaces and children’s camps were built splendidly and made it the foremost trait of the country to love and take care of the KCU members, he said.

He called upon all the KCU members to grow up to be reserves of the revolution and pillars in building a powerful nation, bearing deep in mind the pride and honour of being members of the glorious KCU advancing under the guidance of the respected fatherly Marshal.

Then speeches were made by Kim Tong Myong, a student of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Kim Son Hyang, a student of Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans, and Kim Ryong Song, a student of Puyong Senior Middle School in Haeju City.

Speakers expressed their determination to become strong pillars and true KCU members who firmly carry forward the cause of Juche as desired by the fatherly Marshal.

The meeting adopted an appeal to the KCU members across the country for greeting the Ninth Congress of the WPK with pride in ample knowledge, high morality and strong physique and greater successes in socio-political activities and do-good-thing movements.
