To protect environment for all
June 5, 2025The Korea Natural Environment Conservation Fund (KNECF) makes positive efforts to protect the environment for all.
The fund contributes to the intellectual, material and financial support necessary for the country's natural environment conservation and encourages everyone who is interested in environment protection to take an active part in this work irrespective of form, those with strength dedicating their strength, those with knowledge devoting their knowledge and those with money donating their money.
It also organizes and carries out the work to make an efficient use of the contributions and other donations made by the members of the fund and individual personages, businesses and organizations for the conservation of sustainable natural environment.
It actively promotes constructive and friendly cooperation, mutual exchanges and close ties with international natural environment protection organizations, bodies, foundations and funds and individual personages that offer support and cooperation for the protection of natural environment.
In the past the Nature Conservation Union of Korea adopted an agreement with the Pukorokoro Miranda Naturalists’ Trust of New Zealand for the joint survey of migratory birds on the major wetlands along the west coast of Korea.
Accordingly, the survey and ringing of migratory and water birds such as Limosa lapponica, Tringa nebularia, Charadrius alexandrinus and Numenius phaeopus were conducted in the past five years in over 20 areas along the west coast of Korea including the Sindo and Mundok migratory bird (wetland) reserves. In the course of this, the New Zealand trust donated equipment and funds needed for the protection of major wetlands and migratory birds of the DPRK.
Funding for the activities of the fund is based on the contributions and endowments made by its members and individual enterprises, organizations and personages that wish to contribute to the peace and progress of mankind through environmental protection, environmental education and the expansion of sustainable natural environment, regardless of citizenship, nationality, political view and religious belief.
Donations are accepted in cash in principle, but, if necessary, various assets whose value is appreciated as cash can be donated.
