He also set forth detailed tasks and methods for improving and strengthening the Party’s policy on childcare.

After placing the issue of improving and strengthening the Party’s childcare policy on the agenda of the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee where the Party’s and the state’s most important affairs were discussed and decided, he stressed once again the need to decisively increase the output of milk, develop the milk processing technique and thoroughly ensure the quality of dairy products in the historic policy speech delivered at the Fifth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK and the letter sent to the participants in the Ninth Congress of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea.

He calculated the number of nursery and kindergarten children and the amount of daily milk consumption, took special measures for developing milk powder to be supplied to children and even tasted the milk powder made on an experimental basis caring about its quality. Thanks to the care of the benevolent father, the childcare law which can be found nowhere else in the world was adopted to legally guarantee the implementation of the Party’s childcare policy.

In order to bring up all the children on this land happily, he visited a windy port despite the cold midwinter weather to make sure that a fishery station, which specializes in the supply of fish for the baby homes, orphanages and primary and middle schools for orphans throughout the country, was set up and took measures for supplying the children with meat, fishes and even nutritious dried persimmon on a regular basis.

The Okryu Children’s Hospital and Haebaragi-brand school things loved by children are associated with the devotion and painstaking efforts of the respected fatherly Marshal who has cared so much for the rising generations.
