Plenary meeting of DPRK SPA Standing Committee held
May 31, 2025The 35th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang on May 29.
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the SPA Standing Committee, presided over the plenary meeting.
Present there were Vice-Chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol and members of the SPA Standing Committee and, as observers, relevant officials of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies.
The meeting discussed as its agenda items the deliberation and adoption of the Law of the DPRK on Manpower Management, the Law on Prevention of Soil Pollution and the Law on the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Special Zone and the recall and election of judges and people's assessors of the Supreme Court.
A report was made on the main contents of the relevant drafts of the laws that went through the deliberation by the SPA Legislation Committee.
On the basis of the study and discussion of the proposed bills, the decrees of the SPA Standing Committee "On adopting the Law of the DPRK on Manpower Management", "On adopting the Law of the DPRK on Preventing Soil Pollution" and "On adopting the Law of the DPRK on the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Special Zone" were adopted with unanimous approval.
The meeting recalled and elected judges and people's assessors of the Supreme Court of the DPRK.
