The Russian Foreign Ministry on April 23 strongly protested to the Moscow-based Japanese ambassador in connection with the fact that the Japanese authorities are scheming to use the earnings from the illegally-frozen assets of Russia in assisting Ukraine. 

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that such behaviour of Japan constitutes an actual involvement in the crimes of the Ukrainian authorities and will inevitably incur resolute counteraction.  

It warned that the Japanese authorities will have to bear full responsibility for the future destruction of bilateral relations.
