IP rights and our life

April 26, 2025

April 26 is World Intellectual Property Day.

Marking the day, the WIPO and different countries organize a variety of events including commemorative lectures, symposiums, book and photo exhibitions, presentations of experience and commodity exhibitions for arousing social interest in IP rights so as to give people a better understanding of how the rights are connected with their life and how much the protection of the rights is important.

They also give wide publicity to such IP creators as inventors and innovators, who made distinguished contributions to economic and cultural development by exploring and pioneering the unknown world for mankind, so as to attract public interest in them.

The DPRK steadily enhances intellectual creativity according to the long-term goal and direction of IP work and constantly improves economic, social and legal environment favourable for the circulation and usage of IP.

It strengthens the IP rights protection system and speeds up sci-tech development under a well-regulated guidance system related to the rights.

Accordingly, many units have created IP and made the most of it skilfully in business activities.

Intellectual property contributing to promoting the overall rejuvenation of the country is on the steady increase day by day as it has become a social trait to preferentially treat and highly appreciate those who contribute to social progress and development by dint of knowledge and technology, especially sci-tech talents.

The intellectual property development exhibition-2024 took place last year amid a deep interest of all the people.

The theme for this year’s World Intellectual Property Day is “IP and Music: Feel the Beat of IP”.

Music is the most universal element that is indispensable to all fields from science and technology to film and cultural amusements and the beat and rhythm of music deeply permeate our life.

Through a variety of activities conducted to mark World Intellectual Property Day, we will keenly feel that IP rights promote creation and innovation and inject greater vitality to music pulsing through our life.
