A signature campaign against the tariff policy of the authorities is going on in the United States.

Economists worked out an anti-tariff declaration denouncing the tariff policy of the current administration and circulated it at the end of last week. More than 970 people signed it by the dawn of April 20.

Though the current administration argues that the tariff policy would help reverse the overall trade deficit of the country and shore up the manufacturing industry, it is based on impromptu and mistaken thought, the declaration said.

The tariff policy of the US is exerting a negative influence on over 180 countries and regions in the world and will result in the inflation of price and economic depression also in the US, it said, urging the authorities to put an end to this destructive policy.
