A spokesman for the Chinese defense ministry in a news conference on April 16 branded the US as an empire of hacking.

He said that the US is doing anything it wants in the network space such as wiretapping, spying, secret thieving, cyber-attack and other extreme acts, arousing public outrage. 

He urged the US to stop network attacks against all other countries rather than acting like a thief crying “Stop thief!”
