A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized the US for imposing visa restrictions on Chinese officials on the pretext of the Tibet-related issue in a press conference on April 14.

The Tibet issue belongs to the internal affairs of China, he said, adding that the US’ abuse of visa restrictive measures is seriously contrary to international law and the fundamental rules of international relations.

China has decided to take visa restrictive measures on an equal footing according to the relevant law and regulations against the US personnel who are committing vicious act on the pretext of the Tibet issue, he stressed.
