The Chinese permanent representative to the United Nations demanded Israel stop military actions at an emergency open session of the UN Security Council on the Palestine-Israel issue on April 3.

Referring to the fact that Israel declared that it would occupy the Gaza Strip by expanding ground attack, he asserted that it will entail more massacres and deeper hatred. 

He said that the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are inseparable component parts of Palestine and that to implement the “two-state proposal” is the only way to resolve the Palestinian issue.

He emphasized that his country opposes not only forcible removal of residents of Gaza but also any attempt to annex Gaza and the West Bank.
