China imposed a retaliatory tariff against the US on April 4.

Taking issue with the fact that the US recently decided to levy a 34 percent tariff on goods from China on the pretext of “mutuality”, the tariff regulations committee of the State Council of China said in its official notice that China would impose a 34 percent additional tariff on all the US-made imports from April 10. 

Meanwhile, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce decided to put 16 American entities into the export control list and take the relevant measures.
