The 31st Pyongyang International Marathon took place on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
The contest, divided into marathon, half marathon, 10km running and 5km running, brought together marathoners from the DPRK, China, Romania, Morocco and Ethiopia and amateurs from different countries and regions.
An opening ceremony took place at Kim Il Sung Stadium on April 6.
Present there were Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier and chairman of the State Planning Commission who is vice-chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, officials concerned, officials in the field of sports, Pyongyang citizens and foreign guests.
The contest began after a speech.
Players of the DPRK took the first place in the men's and women's marathon.
DPRK players also won gold, silver and bronze medals in the men's and women's half-marathon.
Polish players took the first, second and third places in the men's amateur marathon and a Hong Kong player of China came first in the women's amateur marathon.
There took place a closing ceremony.
Trophies, medals and diplomas were awarded to the winners.
