A school-opening ceremony took place at the Korean Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disabilities on April 1.
Present there were Minister of Public Health Jong Mu Rim, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled Jon Chol Hi, officials concerned, children with disabilities, nurses, teachers and doctors of the rehabilitation centre and parents of the children.
At the ceremony, Song Hyang Chun, director of the rehabilitation centre, made an address to be followed by speeches.
The speakers noted that a benevolent measure was taken at the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to establish an education support system for disabled persons on a nationwide scale.
They stressed that the children with disabilities would bring their hope and talents into full bloom and grow more cheerfully and healthily under the benefits of the most advantageous socialist system of the country.
Then the participants went round various places of the rehabilitation centre.
