Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the launching ceremony of a nuclear submarine through video-conferencing on March 27 to declare that Russia would continue to strengthen the naval forces in the future.

It is necessary to quickly build a large number of all classes of surface ships and submarines and equip them with up-to-date weapons, facilities and communications means, he said.

Such submarines and battleships will increase the capabilities of all fleets of the country, beef up the security of its sea frontiers and the route of the Arctic Ocean and contribute to solving problems arising in the defence of national interests in different areas of oceans around the world, he affirmed.
