Premier Pak Thae Song, who is also member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, inspected various sectors in South Phyongan Province.

The premier called on the farms and raw materials base stations in Sukchon and Phyongwon counties to actively introduce various advanced farming methods for increasing the agricultural production while saving farming materials, improve the growth of earlier crops of wheat and barley by manuring and cultivating them in a scientific and technological way and raise the land utility rate in conformity with the regional characteristics.

He referred to the need for the agricultural guidance organs at all levels to give substantial guidance and assistance to consolidate the material and technical foundations of farms and continue to direct great efforts to studying and introducing the seeds of high-yielding grain varieties.

He visited the Mundok County Rural Economy Committee, where he learned about the introduction of a new water management method and called for further perfecting the management information system in the field of agriculture in contact with scientific research institutions to accelerate the work for putting guidance over and management of agriculture on a scientific and IT basis.

At the Anju City Grain Storage Station and the Mundok County Paper Mill he said that they should take practical measures in a workable way to raise the proportion of domestic production of equipment and the rate of cleaned rice output and increase the production of farming materials necessary for mulching cultivation.

After acquainting himself in detail with progress made in the construction project for establishing the C1 chemical industry and the production at the Sunchon Phosphatic Fertilizer Factory, he called for thoroughly carrying out the project including the manufacture and assembly of equipment according to the stepwise plan and taking proper measures for the supply of raw materials to bring about remarkable progress in the work for increasing fertilizer production.

Earlier, the premier discussed the ways for increasing the production of wagons and improving their quality at the Wonsan Rolling Stock Factory.
