‘Houses’ of poor people removed owing to privileged classes’ perverted mentality
March 29, 2025It is a desire of all people to live harmoniously with their own families at their own home.
But in capitalist society where “prosperity” and “civilization” are advertised, it is only an unrealistic dream for ordinary working people to have their own home. They only suffer hardship as even basic living conditions are not provided for them.
Shortly ago, the tents in downtown Washington, the US, which had been used by homeless people, were removed for the reason that they were “ugly”.
This is just capitalist society which politicians of the US and the West advertises as “welfare society”, talking about “rich material life”, “civilization” and “liberal democracy”, whenever an occasion arises.
An American newspaper said to the following effect:
Americans crave three things even in dreams, that is, a private home, family and stable life. However, it is nothing but a pipe dream. And few Americans believe that the dream will come true easily.
In the US the prices of houses have risen by 29 percent and the rent by 26 percent since 2020.
A middle-class house in the country costs more than US$427 490, an unthinkable amount for ordinary people.
According to official statistics released by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the number of homeless people in the country reached about 770 000 by January 2024, a record high since 2007.
In other capitalist countries, including Japan, Portugal and the Netherlands, house prices also skyrocketed, and ordinary people regard it as luck to be able to live in rented houses.
In direct proportion to the rising prices of houses, improper houses such as unattractive “vinyl house” and “cardboard house” are on the increase everywhere in those countries.
As seen above, the housing problem related to the basic living conditions for human beings arises as an urgent issue for the existence of poor people. But if the privileged classes say that the “houses” are "ugly", the poor cannot be provided with even such a living condition. This is the reality of perverted capitalist society where money is almighty.
